Digify Africa requested Little Brother Media Productions to produce short and informative animation videos covering how businesses made use of the WhatsApp platform to provide their customers the ability for them to easily get information or help through an interactive chat.
We were tasked with conveying these ideas in concise and digestible 2D animation videos that could be viewed on social media platforms while making sure to adhere to the correct CI and guidelines of both the user client and the over-arching client, Meta.
We had to clearly define the visual style and tone of the video to match the CI of the client
For this specific production we had to clearly communicate information and statistics to the viewer in a short amount of time. We did this through the use of fast pace movement and cuts to provide a sense of excitement with the youth.
We recreated the Whatsapp platform inside After Effects. This was in order for us to have absolute control over the animation process and what was required to place inside the user interface without any compromise in quality.
We also built the project in a modular fashion to ensure that we could streamline the process from one production to the next and reduce repetitive tasks.
From the outset we realised that the success of the project relied on our ability to communicate and manage expectations.
We maintained open channels of communication throughout the production. Even with the challenges we faced, frequent progress reports and timeous actions on feedback received was always passed on to the end client. This enabled us to maintain our own internal timelines and pivot as and when changes were required.
The project faced numerous delays and challenges along the journey. We ended up having to re-assess the outcomes and deliverables. But we still managed to deliver 4 high quality animation productions that spoke to the efficacy of the platform and we believe that it was a successful production.
